The E ect of Correlated Faults on Software Reliability
نویسندگان
چکیده
The reliability models often assume random testing and statistical independence of faults to keep the analysis tractable. In practice, these assumptions do not hold. This paper presents a reliability modeling approach that considers nonrandom testing. This approach is used to calculate the fault exposure ratio, which characterizes the testing process. The analysis of the experimental data suggests that the fault exposure ratio varies di erently in the early and the later stages of testing. The analysis here presents an explanation of this behavior.

متن کاملSpeci cation - Based Testing Using Cause - E ect Graphs 1 )
In this paper we discuss the advantages and limitations of a speci cation-based software testing technique we call CEG-BOR. There are two phases in this approach. First, informal software speci cations are converted into cause-e ect graphs (CEG). Then, the Boolean OperatoR (BOR) strategy is applied to design and select test cases. The conversion of an informal speci cation into a CEG helps dete...
متن کاملDetection of high impedance faults in distribution networks using Discrete Fourier Transform
In this paper, a new method for extracting dynamic properties for High Impedance Fault (HIF) detection using discrete Fourier transform (DFT) is proposed. Unlike conventional methods that use features extracted from data windows after fault to detect high impedance fault, in the proposed method, using the disturbance detection algorithm in the network, the normalized changes of the selected fea...
متن کاملFault Removal Efficiency in Software Reliability Growth Model
Software Reliability is defined as the probability of free-failure operation for a specified period of time in a specified environment. Software Reliability Growth models (SRGM) have been developed to estimate software reliability measures such as number of remaining faults, software failure rate and Software Reliability. Imperfect debugging models are considered in these models. However, most ...
متن کاملReliability Growth of Fault - Tolerant Software
Two fault-tolerant software techniques are investigated: recovery block and N-version programming. For each, the stable reliability model is transformed into a model that considers reliability growth via the transformation approach based on the hyperexponential model. Analytic and numeric processing of the transformed models identify the influence of fault removal on the reliability of the faul...
